CSP Pacific Dynaflex

CSP Pacific had an issue.  Their Dynaflex flexible sign post base wasn’t up to the task and was failing when repeatedly run over by errant cars.  They approached us to improve the design.  Using our Evidence Based Design approach we not only extended the product life by 450% but reduced the cost by 50%. The system has been a great success and we helped CSP secure patent protection to safeguard their newfound intellectual property.

CSP Pacific Dynaflex

Designed to be run over again and again (and again!) CSP Pacific’s Dynaflex sign post base needed to be better, stronger and last longer. Up to the challenge, Holmes Solutions used Evidence Based Design to re-engineer the system. Drawing upon our team of engineers' knowledge and experience, Holmes Solutions developed a new system based on patentable technology that provided a cost saving of 50%.

Testing was critical to the project, allowing CSP Pacific to meet the requirements of international standards and opening up the global market. As a result a clever test programme was devised to put the Dynaflex through its paces which included impacting the sign repeatedly with a 1200kg vehicle at 50km/h and wind testing at a speed of 160km/h. Testing proved the structural integrity of the system, validating a 450% increase in the product’s design life.
